HISTORIC PRESERVATION
The Rockcastle Chapter, NSDAR, is involved in many historic preservation projects in our community.
Clean and document cemeteries.
Perform grave marking ceremonies for American Revolutionary War patriots.
Transcribe and provide historical county documents for public use.
Placed twenty two markers of historical significance throughout the county.
Researched and created history panels for the Livingston School history room.
Host genealogy workshops for the community.
Dedicated Chief Standing Rock of the East in Livingston.
Added missing names of soldiers on the WWI county monument.
Relocated the 1915 DAR marker marking the trail of Daniel Boone.
Sponsored historical plaque for the pioneer statue at the St. Clair History Garden.
SERVICE
WOMEN’S ISSUES
The Rockcastle Chapter, NSDAR, members address women’s issues in the community by participating in several activities that include:

Supporting fellow chapter members that are in need by sending cards and little care packages, as well as assisting a legally blind member with daily meals and errands.
Chapter members wear RED in February for Women Heart Disease Awareness.
Chapter members collect clothing for women that are in need.
Sending "goody" mugs for breast cancer patients at the local hospital.
Have compelling guest speakers discussing various topics relating to women's issues.
Sponsor a letter writing project to active duty female military from Rockcastle.
